A Helpful Guide to Taiwan False Eyelashes

Me wearing Taiwan false eyelashes 217
There are mainly two kinds of Taiwan false eyelashes that I use for clients- #217 and M14. I also tried using Epsa false eyelashes however the base that binds the lashes together is more wiggly than Taiwan false eyelashes and can’t stick near the lash line properly.

upclose #217 falsies
Taiwan false eyelashes are quality and affordable lashes. You have 10 pairs in a box. I bought around P60-90 per box from my online supplier plus shipping fee. If you buy these from boutiques it will cost around P100-150 depending on the thickness of the lashes. The advantage of buying directly from boutiques is you can choose which box has more uniform looking lashes.

You can use this for entourage or events attendees. Below is a video of me trying it.

If you will compare it to SN 15, it is shorter and more natural looking. SN 15 on the other has really long lashes. It can make the eyes look bigger. You can also use this for brides, proms or pageant contestants.

Below is a video of me doing the demo or tutorial.

However I prefer more to use M14 for brides and proms. There are longer lashes than M14 than can be used for pageants.

M14
I used M14 to my makeup client for her prom.
You can also use 218 or 219 for entourage. They are slightly longer than 217.

I hope this blog helps you if you are choosing what you will wear in events or what to use for clients. I honestly don’t wear false eyelashes on an everyday basis or when I attend blogging events. I am thankful for having long lashes. 217 is slightly longer than my lashes. If the event will be a night ball or formal event then I will wear one.

In the future I plan to buy mink lashes or other brands. I always try the products first before applying or trying them to clients so I need to save up since these lashes are more expensive than Taiwan false eyelashes.

If you are curious what false eyelash glue I use, I use Duo white. Before I use Nichido but the ends of falsies won’t stick properly. I would try other brands in the future like Fashion 21 and The Face shop.

Review: Shawill Liquid Eyeliner Pen

I bought this brought for only P99 in Watsons after attending a Makeup Workshop where in the makeup artist teacher said it is a good buy. I became curious so I bought two. One for me and one for my makeup clients.

It is longlasting, waterproof and has a matte finish. As stated in the packaging it is volumizing because the pen is not too thin. It is pigmented and applies evenly.

Review: Maybelline Fit Me Concealer

I bought this concealer for P230+. I searched for reviews before buying it and reviewers say it is effective. I chose the shade Medium or 25 which is 1 or 2 shades lighter than my skintone.

It has a plastic transparent seal so customers are assured no one swatched it before buying. It has a medium to full coverage. It is even when applied. It is lightweight and doesn't feel sticky. It doesn't have an unpleasant smell.

I just used a little amount under my eyes and it is effective in concealing. It is buildable. For pimple marks you can use it for spot concealing. It doesn't oxidize or get oily easily.

Without concealer

With concealer
I would say it is effective in hiding eyebags but I more curious if the Age rewind is more effective.

Skinaz Review: Lip Crayon Tint, Cats Eye Eyeliner, Stick Blusher

Skinaz sent me some Skinaz makeup products. Skinaz is a Korean brand.

Stick Blusher

The one they gave me is Baby Pink #1

The stick blush spread out evenly. It is a light pink but if you put more it would be bright pink. It doesn't have clumps. It is odorless.

Cats Eye Eyeliner

This is a liquid eyeliner with a glossy finish. It is easy to apply since it has a fine tip. The shade is Real Black. It smudge after 2-3 hours. It is odorless.

Lip crayon Tint

It has a glossy finish. It is not transfer proof. A tip I can give is to place translucent powder on top of it to minimize the shine. It is odorless. It glides smoothly and evenly. The shade is number 8 or Glam Red.

Below is my video of makeup demo and review of these products.

Review: Clinique vs. Lancome Mascara

Mascara helps make the eyes look more lively. I compared two brands of mascara.

Clinique Mascara High Impact Mascara

The wand has more finer tooth or has more bristles. The consistency is more thin than that of lancome. It is also It has 3.5ml which has more contents than Lancome's mascara. It is black. It is lightweight. I don't feel like I'm wearing a mascara. The effect on my lashes is like volumizing. It appeared that I had more lashes than before. It doesn't have a stingy or weird smell.

Lancome High Definition Mascara

Its contents is 2.07ml. This is dark gray. I would not say that it is black because it is lighter than Clinique's mascara. It's consistency is thicker. I can feel that I am wearing a mascara. The effect on my lashes is that it can hold my lashes thicker, higher and stronger.  It doesn't have a stingy or weird smell.

I prefer to use the Clinique mascara but if you want your lashes to appear longer then you might opt to use Lancome mascara.

Fashion 21 vs. Nichido Contour Palette

Last few days Fashion 21 cosmetics released a contour palette with two contour shades and one highlighter. I was so excited because last March I asked the counter in one of their stores in a SM branch if they are have contour palette. The saleslady said Fashion 21 will come up with one soon.

Fashion 21 contour palette swatch
The lighter brown shade has a pinkish tone. I think this is good for people with fair skin or maputi. All colors have shimmer particles that are quite big. I thought they released a matte one. There is actually the highlighter swatch at the right side of the darkest shade. The highlighter is powdery and its shimmer doesn't stick on the skin or isn't obvious enough. Maybe you can use the highlighter as an eyeshadow instead.

If you take a picture using a smartphone you cannot see the shimmer but in real life there is shimmer. I didn't take a close up picture. I was actually in the mall to look for the foundations because of the sale.

Photo: From Fashion 21 Facebook page

Beside Fashion 21 stall is the Nichido stall so I went there and compared the two.

The difference is that the lightest shade of the Fashion 21 contour palette is darker than the lightest shade of Nichido palette. The darkest shade of the Fashion 21 contour palette is darker than the darkest shade of Nichido palette. Nichido's shade in the middle is more of yellow tone.

Nichido contour swatches

When I tried to rub the swatches of Fashion 21 and Nichido, Fashion 21 contour swatches isn't affected that much or the color didn't get too much lighter. Nichido contour palette is also powdery but has smaller shimmer particles than that of Fashion 21.

For the price of P300+ I think both palettes are affordable since the size is quite big and not like an eyeshadow pot size.

Review: Loreal La Palette Eyeshadow

I purchased this eyeshadow palette from an online shop. I was looking for an eyeshadow palette that contains brown shades that are matte. Although not all are matte but I am happy that there are shades that contain shimmer. There are no fallouts. Only 5 colors are in matte. A primer is recommended to placed on the eyelid before applying this product. I was also after the black matte eyeshadow found at the furthest right.

I believe the first brown matte shade is the transition eyeshadow. P800 is not bad because it has 10 shades already. P800 divided by ten so it is like P80 per shade.

I read the reviews on the online shop. Buyers stated that the Nude Rose palette is more pigmented and that this Beige palette is very neutral. I would say this palette can be used for everyday wear but the black shade is helpful when you need a night time look. Anyway I was not looking for pink shades during that time. The Nude Rose palette is more of the pink or violet shades.

Below is my video of applying Loreal La Palette Beige eyeshadow.

Reviewed: EB Brown Eyeshadow Palette

A friend gave me Ever Bilena Eyeshadow Palette and I tried it.

It consists of a highlighter, light pink, light brown, brown and black eyeshadow.

It has an eyeshadow applicator and small mirror inside.

The shades on the skin looks okay.

The highlighter looks promising but it has some large sparkles.

For the pictures below I used light brown as base then darkbrown for the outer shade but they didn't blend well. I used the highlighter for the eyebrows but it didn't look good.

The eyeshadow particles fall off so for me it is not good. It is best to use it one eyeshadow color than mixing two colors. The light pink and light brown are not pigmented so you can use it everyday. For the darker colors they are pigmented.

Once I used just the light brown for a normal day and it lasted only 1-2 hours.

Everbilena Thick lash Mascara vs. Maybelline Hypercurl Mascara

I searched for the two most low cost or cheapest Mascara in the drugstore. I found Everbilena Thick lash Mascara and Maybelline Hypercurl Mascara. Let's see the difference.

This is how my eye/s look like without mascara.

Everbilena Thick Lash Mascara

I bought it in Mercury Drug for less than P150. It is travel size.

I curled my lashes first. I had to do 5 to 10 strokes before it is quite obvious that I put on Mascara on my lashes.

Maybelline Hypercurl Mascara

I bought it in Savemore for only P199.

I had to do only 2 strokes then the Mascara is obvious already.

For me the winner is Maybelline Hypercurl Mascara because of the ff:

1. Affordable - there is only a less than 100php difference in price
2. Curve part makes it easier to apply Mascara
3. Finer brush
4. Requires only few strokes

Mac Eyeliner (Real Vs. Fake)

Last week I saw a series of stalls and got curious what bargain items are they selling. I was surprised to see cosmetics sold in such lower prices. Brands like Etude House, Loreal, Mac, Urban Decay, Hello Kitty cosmetics and many more. Not only cosmetics were present but also perfumes.

I bought one of the products there which is "MAC" eyeliner. And the price is lower than P100. Lower than P50 but higher than P10. Any guess? You can write in the comments section. ^_^

Here is how the eyeliner looks like.

Let's get started and examine if this one is a real one.

I checked with the website of MAC in the Philippines and this is the only eyeliner closest to the picture that I can find.

The MAC print is not in the middle but at the end or bottom of the eyeliner. And the price is much higher than P50.

The one that I bought has large MAC letters at the middle and you can see some icons at the right that cannot be found in the original MAC eyeliner.

Another indication that is fake is the plastic sharpener plus the blunt or unsharpened tip of the eyeliner. Looks like it has been already used.

I applied it on my skin. The line at the left is when I applied some pressure and at the right is when I applied little pressure. You can also notice some very unrefined pieces along the lines.

For me what I bought is fake. When it is so good to be true, you should think twice. The price that is so low makes it attractive for customers to buy but if you are looking for authenticity then buy at the malls.

I purposefully bought a fake one to share to you readers that selling fake cosmetics is still existent. We should be health conscious it may be beneficial at the moment to buy these fake ones and use them but if it has harmful chemicals then in the long run it might damage your eyes or your skin.

Surprisingly I also saw this same kind of eyeliner sold for P50 in a popular beauty store. I really wonder why they mix up this fake eyeliner with their real ones. For me it is a dishonest act to do this and also it ruins the credibility of the store. Good thing they have removed it and just focused on selling and their main brand of cosmetics.
