Watched 3 Philippine orchestras for free
The show yesterday, May 2, was entitled Symphonic Sunsets at Makiling. It was held in the Tanghalang Maria Makiling, National Arts Center, Los Banos Laguna.
It is such a great privilege to watch for free these 3 amazing orchestras- Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra, Ochestra of the Filipino youth, ABS CBN philharmonic orchestra plus to get to watch conductors Gerard Salonga and Olivier Ochanine. Before I only see Gerard Salonga and orchestras on TV.
Orchestras usually have shows in Cultural Center of the Philippines and the tickets would cost thousands or hundreds. I grabbed the opportunity to watch since it is free admission. Then my friend told me they also made a show last year. O_o What? And I didn't even heard of it before. I should have watched last year too.
Transportation going to the National Arts Center is a challenge. I and my friends hired a jeepney but when the driver saw that there is a steep road going up and down he made us go down. The security was telling the driver he can make it but he did not push through. So we went down 500m+ walking up and down. I was wearing a 3.8 or 4 inch high wedge.
I also love the way Ms. Jamie Bernstein and Ms. Tricia Tunstall explained El Sistema, shared their stories, inspired the audience how music can have a good influence to the people especially the youth. They really appreciated the talent of the Ochestra of the Filipino youth.
Getting a good place is hard because we reached the venue about 30 minutes before it started. The seats were full and only concrete benches far from the hall were available for us.
The audience appreciated every piece. Being seated at the far part makes the sound quality poor than sitting in front. In addition there are some noisy people talking even if the orchestra is playing.
Going home was a hassle. We waited from about 7:30 to past 11pm for a jeepney to pick us up. Only four jeepneys were going up and down to fetch people and there are hundred or more than a thousand people who watched the concert. We rode the last trip. It was tiring, we were thirsty and hungry. We were dropped off far from a jeepney terminal so we need to walk another 500m. My feet were so tired walking. Next time I will wear doll shoes instead of a wedge.
Hearing the 3 orchestras played together is amazing. The final piece is by Beethoven Sonata. The conductor was Olivier Ochanine.
I get to have pictures with cello cases. Haha The cases were taller than me.
By the way this is how I looked yesterday.

Exhibit viewing: Stage design and costumes
Exhibit: Savador Bernal National Artist for Theater and Design
After seeing some posters in a bulletin board, I went to an exhibit alone. So happy I was the only viewer at past 1:00pm today. It feels like I own the place.Salvador Bernal, widely acknowledged as the “father of Philippine theater design.
Bernal’s name is synonymous with Philippine theater design in which he excelled and for which he was conferred the honor National Artist for Theater and Design in 2003. The National Artist award is the country’s highest cultural honor.
He worked with the CCP for the longest time but at the time of his death, he was designing a production of King Lear for PETA, one of the country’s most popular and respected theater group. Badong, as Bernal was called by friends and colleagues, was collaborating on King Lear with Nonon Padilla. The two helped put together a production of Dalagang Bukid in 1987, the first major stage production of the CCP after the Edsa People Power uprising.
The CCP said in a statement that Bernal’s last production for the CCP was a musical version of Lope K. Santos’s “Banaag at Sikat,” a political novel first published at the turn of the century.
Bernal designed more than 300 productions for drama, musicals, operas and concerts such as those for Musical Theater Philippines and Opera Guild of the Philippines.
He also dabbled in the movies, designing the period costumes for such films as Oro, Plata, Mata and Gumising Ka, Maruja. He also helped design TV commercials and calendars.
Bernal was known for using indigenous and locally available materials for stage such as bamboo, abaca fabric, hemp twice raw, rattan chain links, and styrofoams in productions such as Rajah Sulayman, Abaniko, La Traviata, Tomaneg at Aniway and Pagkahaba-haba man ng Prusisyon sa Simbahan din ang Tuloy (Much Ado About Nothing).

This exhibit was on also on national tour last February to November 2014 in selected local communities nationwide as part of the Lakbay Sining (Touring) Program of the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) Cultural Exchange.
Below are the pictures of the fittings/costumes.
The Filipiniana costume that I like the most is this one. Although it is just black and white it looks very classy. I like the lace design of the skirt.
One of the small scale set designs
My favorite was the one with statute of Liberty in the background but I was not able to take a picture because someone was looking. I used Camera 360 in taking pictures because flash photography is not allowed.
One of the set designs has a 'hologram'.
The exhibit will run until May 31, 2015.
Venue: Basement DL Umali Hall, UPLB, College, Laguna.
Gallery Hours : 8am-5pm Free Admission

Review: Body Shop Lip Balm
Body Shop Tinted Lip Balm
Delipscious
Made in USA
Weight: 4.2 g (0.14 oz)
Color: Shade of yellow orange
This lip balm has lots of shimmer. It really colors the lips but doesn't stay for long like a magic lipstick. It would match a skintone that is light or fair. It is yellowish/orange so it can make your teeth look yellow.
Putting too much is not advisable because it will make you look like you ate a lot of oil.
It is better if you put it on tip of a dark colored lipstick as a shimmer.
People with light colored or pinkish lips can use this however this doesn't look that much pretty people with dark lips.

Insights
I read in Mandisa's facebook post that Jamie Grace has an open letter to Taylor Swift. http://imafighter.org/deartaylorswift/. According to Jamie, Taylor Swift's mom has cancer.
Not only public figures need to put on a smile amidst of pain but also church leaders, parents, and even an ordinary person when they go out to buy some grocery. Their heart wants to burst with pain but they need to act as if everything is ok. It is also hard to update people or even post in facebook or any social media sites that a family member is sick or you have problems cause sometimes they interpret it as the Lord's judgement to you even if you are a Christian or to your family member/friend/loved one that isn't yet a believer. Sometimes the post or updates may be interpreted as a turn off to the Lord and a minus to His integrity because it's like He cannot take away all of our problems-but these are all lies. God is loving and is not the cause of pain of people. His desire is to bless us. Nothing is impossible with God and His ways and thoughts are higher than ours.
Health issues are not new to my family. Many times I pray for healing, crying and like begging to God but can't see the 100% healing.
I feel for those who are poor and can't afford treatment. I feel for those who are selfless and forgot about their desires and career just to take care of the sick. I feel for those who have all the money and knowledge but still their loved ones cannot be cured. I feel for those whose battle has been so long and it feels like forever. I feel for those who has sickness because it is inherited from ancestors or parents. It is never their fault why they were sick.
The news feed in Instagram, facebook, YahooNews, etc states that Amanda Noelle (back up of Natalie Grant) has cancer, Mark Hall of Casting Crowns had kidney operation to remove cancer, Darlene Zschech had cancer and Benny Hinn had reset of heart rhythm. I came to an understanding that we still exist in this world and our bodies are mortal even if we are Christians and even if our ministry is healing and worship but of course we want heaven on earth- no pain, no sickness, no tears, eternity with the Lord! :D
I also have learned that we take up our own cross. We have our own battle even if part of our burden are the problems of our loved ones. We are not to blame ourselves if we pray for somebody and he/she doesn't get healed. There is a purpose- maybe God wants us to see His move little by little until we see full recovery.
It is hard to beat yourself up when you are the only Christian in a big family and you are the youngest and think as if your prayers aren't heard or your cries are not enough. And also think as if you are the problem why they don't get well.
I do understand that there are cases that people don't get healed and I just think that maybe it is because our bodies are still mortal. Even Jesus felt pain in the Calvary on the Cross. He didn't get healed while in the cross and eventually died but Jesus rose again for us to live.
We do not accept defeat and we are not losers. We are more than conquerors in Christ but as humans we also try to understand God's ways, will and purposes.
It is best to surround yourself with true people who would support you emotionally and sincerely care about you, understand you and will be willing to stand with you no matter how long it would take.

Review: The Body Shop Lipstick
Last Christmas I received some presents and they include two Lipsticks.
The Brand is Body Shop.
The first one is Lilac - Code: 852782
It looks violet but when you apply it on the lips it is just shimmer but when you apply it on the skin, the violet shade appears.
The second one is Rose. Code: 825778
It looks pink but when you apply it on the lips it is just shimmer but when you apply it on the skin, the pink shade appears.
For me this lipstick is okay for people with very light pink or pale lips so that the color will be obvious.
It is more of a shimmer and not of a lipstick. The shimmer is very fine and doesn't look like glitters. You may use it on top of darker shade lipstick.
